The 3G iPhone, which will go on sale July 11, features GPS and costs less than the original, priced starting at $199. Apple also revealed a MobileMe online service for synchronizing applications that costs $99 a year. Apple shares fell 2%. | Softbank bringing iPhone to Japan

| AFP - Japan's number three mobile cellphone operator Softbank Mobile announced on Tuesday it will introduce a new version of Apple's iPhone next month as rival NTT DoCoMo said it had no plan to offer the handset.

| Retailers, oil companies fuel market rally

a month on Thursday after Wal-Mart and other retailers posted
stronger-than-expected May sales and data showed a surprising
fall in weekly jobless claims, spurring optimism about the
economy's health.
