    Donovan may return to Everton during MLS strike (AP)
    Landon Donovan will attend the resumption of Major League Soccer bargaining and says he might return to Everton if players go on strike next week. Donovan had two goals and three assists in 13 games during an impressive 10-week loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy to Everton that ended Saturday, helping the Toffees beat Manchester United and Chelsea, the top two teams in the Premier League. -- read full article

    Chicago Fire signs 2 defenders (AP)
    The Chicago Fire has signed defenders Kwame Watson-Siriboe and Steve Kinney. Watson-Siriboe was drafted in the second round this year (26th overall) from the University of Connecticut. Kinney was selected by the club in the third round (45th overall) out of Elon.     Real Salt Lake signs striker Alvaro Saborio (AP)
    Real Salt Lake has signed Costa Rican forward Alvaro Saborio for the 2010 Major League Soccer season. Saborio was contracted to Swiss club Sion, but has more recently been on loan to English club Bristol City. The club announced the move Saturday and financial details of the deal were not disclosed.     Heavy rain, wind force Red Bulls postponement (AP)
    The soft opening of the new Red Bulls Arena has been postponed. The New York Red Bulls announced Saturday that heavy rain and high wind caused it to postpone a game between its Under-18 Academy team and the United States Under-17 Men's National Team.     Chicago Fire signs F John (AP)
    The Chicago Fire has signed Dutch forward Collins John, a free agent and former striker for Fulham. The 24-year-old John began his professional career in 2002 with FC Twente, scoring 11 goals in 35 games before being sold to Fulham FC in January 2004.     Toronto sends Serioux to Houston for draft pick (AP)
    Defender Adrian Serioux has been traded from Toronto FC to the Houston Dynamo for a third-round draft pick in 2011. The 30-year-old two goals and one assist in 26 games last season.     Red Bulls acquire Robinson from Toronto (AP)
    The New York Red Bulls have acquired Welsh former national midfielder Carl Robinson from Toronto FC for a fourth-round pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. The Red Bulls announced the move Thursday. They say Robinson will be added to the roster pending a visa approval. The 33-year-old Robinson has appeared in 74 games with Toronto over the past three years, mostly as a defensive midfielder. -- read full article
