| Former New England Revolution forward Pat Noonan was traded to the Columbus Crew on Wednesday after re-signing with Major League Soccer. | Real Salt Lake stadium opener set for Oct. 9 (AP) |
| Real Salt Lake will open its new stadium Oct. 9 against the New York Red Bulls. RSL hoped to open the venue before the end of this season, but the club wasn't sure if it would be ready in time. Real owner Dave Checketts said Tuesday that the 20,000-seat stadium will be ready for the Thursday night game against the Red Bulls, which was already scheduled to be televised on ESPN2. -- read full article |

| New England goalkeeper Matt Reis tipped a shot by Corey Ashe off the crossbar in the eighth round of penalty kicks to give the Revolution with a 3-2 victory over the Houston Dynamo Tuesday for the SuperLiga championship. | Darren Huckerby scored one goal and had an assist as the San Jose Earthquakes beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2 on Sunday, ending an eight-match winless streak. Ryan Cochrane scored his first goal of the season in the 90th minute for the Earthquakes (4-9-6).
