| FC Dallas acquired forward Jeff Cunningham from Toronto FC on Friday in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. Cunningham is the fourth-leading goal scorer in league history with 99 regular-season goals. He began his professional career in 1998 with the Columbus Crew. | Toronto FC midfielder Amado Guevara was suspended one game and fined $250 by Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee on Thursday for his conduct in Sunday's game. Guevara earned a red card in Toronto's 2-0 loss to FC Dallas after hitting Dallas midfielder Pablo Ricchetti in the face in the penalty area in the 78th minute. -- read full article |

| Real Salt Lake will open its new stadium Oct. 9 against the New York Red Bulls. RSL hoped to open the venue before the end of this season, but the club wasn't sure if it would be ready in time. | New England goalkeeper Matt Reis tipped a shot by Corey Ashe off the crossbar in the eighth round of penalty kicks to give the Revolution with a 3-2 victory over the Houston Dynamo Tuesday for the SuperLiga championship.
