| Calhoun treated for skin cancer, will keep coaching |
| Connecticut basketball coach Jim Calhoun says he is being treated for his second bout of skin cancer in a year, and he wants to keep coaching.
The 66-year-old Hall of Famer says a lump removed from his neck on May 6 was malignant. He is to undergo six weeks of radiation treatments next month. His doctors say there should be no long-term effects from the radiation. They expect him to return to a normal lifestyle, including coaching.
Calhoun has spent 21 seasons at UConn, with two NCAA titles. -- read full article |

| Rutgers head coach Hill gets 2-year extension |
| Rutgers has given basketball coach Fred Hill a two-year contract extension, but he will not receive a salary increase under the deal.
Hill's contract, which was announced Thursday, will run through 2012-13.
Hill, 48, became the 16th head coach in school history when he succeeded Gary Waters in March 2006. He received a five-year contract worth $500,000 per year counting base salary and other considerations. -- read full article |

| Court spokesman confirms Olson settlement |
| A court spokesman confirmed that Arizona basketball coach Lute Olson and his second wife, Christine Olson, have reached a divorce settlement.
Pima County Superior Court spokesman David Ricker said the judge in the case told him Thursday that lawyers had canceled a planned meeting on Friday because the couple came to a settlement agreement.

| Nebraska coach Doc Sadler said he takes responsibility for the violation of a Big 12 rule that prevents prized recruit Roburt Sallie from joining the Cornhuskers.
Sallie broke Rule 6.2, which says that any student-athlete who enrolls at a conference institution, part or full time, must meet initial NCAA eligibility requirements. Sallie had not met those requirements when he was enrolled as a part-time student in August 2006. -- read full article |

| Ronald Steele feels like he has nothing to lose this week at the NBA predraft camp.
He's got two options: Sign with an agent and commit to playing in the NBA next season, or go back to Alabama for one last run with the Crimson Tide.

| Mayo upset with Mother's Day timing of allegations |
| O.J. Mayo was tying up loose ends at college and preparing to take his mom out for a Mother's Day dinner when he heard the news.
A former associate of his, Louis Johnson, was on ESPN earlier this month saying Mayo was funneled money by a sports promoter from a professional agent, during and after his high-profile prep basketball career.

| Jarvis to coach at Florida Atlantic |
| Florida Atlantic and Mike Jarvis finally have a deal.
After weeks of anticipation, Jarvis is being announced Tuesday as the Owls' new coach, his first sideline job since St. John's fired him nearly five years ago.
Jarvis' four-year contract must be approved Wednesday by university trustees.
