    Phila. U's Magee passes Rupp on NCAA win list
    Philadelphia University men's basketball coach Herb Magee has passed former Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp to move into fourth place on the NCAA career wins list. Magee won his 877th game when the Division II Rams posted a 63-57 victory over Caldwell in New Jersey on Friday. Ahead of Magee are former North Carolina coach Dean Smith with 879; former Indiana and Texas Tech coach Bob Knight with 902; and Don Meyer of Northern State with 909 as of Friday. -- read full article

    Wooden, 98, recovering from pneumonia
    John Wooden is recovering from pneumonia, and the 98-year-old basketball great is expected to be released from the hospital soon. UCLA, the school Wooden coached to 10 national titles, said Friday he was admitted to a Los Angeles-area hospital Feb. 13 and is completing his recovery. "My father is doing well," said Nan Muehlhausen, Wooden's daughter. "His lungs are clear and he has been eating well. We expect him to be released soon. -- read full article

    Capel: Griffin still recovering; return uncertain
    Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel says All-American Blake Griffin is still recovering from a concussion and it's not clear when he will be healthy enough to return to the lineup. No. 3 Oklahoma plays at Texas Tech on Saturday. Capel said Thursday that Griffin, hurt in the Sooners' loss to Texas last Saturday, will not be allowed to play until he shakes the nausea and headaches that he's been having.
