| Arkansas' Washington removes name from draft |
| Arkansas' Michael Washington has officially removed his name from the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-9 Washington will return to the Razorbacks for his senior season, the school announced Wednesday. Washington submitted his name for the draft nearly a month ago, but he did not sign with an agent. He had until June 15 to remove his name.
Washington led Arkansas with 15.5 points per game last season, and he led the Southeastern Conference with 9.8 rebounds. -- read full article |

| Fifteen years after Campbell left the Big South Conference in a tiff, the Camels will rejoin the league in the 2011-12 academic year.

| A not guilty plea has been entered on behalf of a former University of Toledo football player who is accused of a key role in a point-shaving scheme.
Adam Cuomo of Hagersville, Ontario, was released after a brief appearance Wednesday in federal court in Detroit.
He's charged with conspiring with two Detroit-area gamblers to influence the results of Toledo football and basketball games, from late 2004 through 2006.

| A former associate of NBA star O.J. Mayo has told Yahoo! Sports that Southern California basketball coach Tim Floyd paid a man who helped get Mayo to play for the Trojans.
In a story posted Tuesday night at Yahoo! Sports, Louis Johnson, the former associate of Mayo's, said Rodney Guillory told him that Floyd had given Guillory "a grand." Johnson said he was able to view $100 bills inside an envelope Guillory had.

| A woman accused of trying to extort millions from Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino has entered a not guilty plea in federal court in Louisville.
Karen Cunagin (KOON'-ah-gen) Sypher (SY'-fur) was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges of trying to extort money from Pitino and lying to the FBI. The estranged wife of a longtime Pitino aide was indicted Tuesday.

| LaRue joins staff at Wake Forest |
| Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio has hired former NBA player Rusty LaRue as an assistant coach.
The school made the announcement Wednesday.
LaRue was inducted into the Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame last year. He played parts of three seasons for the Chicago Bulls, along with stints for Utah and Golden State.
As a junior in 1995, LaRue became the second athlete in Atlantic Coast Conference history to play football, basketball and baseball in the same year. -- read full article |
