    Ducks' Beard pleads guilty to harassment (AP)
    Oregon kicker Rob Beard has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of physical harassment in a Jan. 24 street fight that left him seriously injured. The Register-Guard reported that prosecutors on Friday said the 19-year-old Beard was so drunk that he doesn't remember shoving a woman to the ground before he was beaten unconscious by two men who intervened on the woman's behalf. -- read full article

    Saban slips up in referencing Auburn (AP)
    So much for Alabama coach Nick Saban's attempt at praising Auburn. Saban accepted a trophy for winning the Iron Bowl during halftime of Saturday's Alabama-Auburn basketball game.     NCAA denies Beavers QB Moevao sixth year (AP)
    The NCAA has denied Oregon State's appeal for an additional year of eligibility for quarterback Lyle Moevao. The Beavers asked for a sixth year of eligibility for Moevao, who injured his right shoulder in the 2008 season and required surgery before playing just one down early last season.     Iowa DE Clayborn pleads to lesser charge (AP)
    Iowa's all-Big Ten defensive end Adrian Clayborn has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in a case involving a taxi driver. The 21-year-old from St. Louis was originally charged with assault causing bodily injury after he allegedly punched the driver on Jan. 19, 2009, when the cabbie honked at him. Online court records show Clayborn pleaded guilty Wednesday to disorderly conduct. -- read full article

    Longtime Fresno State assistant coach John Baxter is leaving the Bulldogs to become Lane Kiffin's associate head coach and special teams coordinator at Southern California.
