| Louisville dismisses RB Stripling (AP) |
| Running back George Stripling was dismissed from the Louisville football team Friday for a violation of team rules. Stripling was suspended for one game last season for an unspecified violation of team rules. He ran for 1,338 yards and 13 touchdowns in 34 career games for the Cardinals. Stripling, from Jacksonville, Fla., has one year of eligibility remaining. -- read full article |

| Penn St. DT Baker gets 2 years probation (AP) |
| Penn State defensive tackle Chris Baker was sentenced to two years' probation after entering guilty pleas in two cases involving fights. Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira said Baker pleaded guilty Friday to misdemeanor simple assault and criminal trespass for a fight at an off-campus apartment in April 2007. -- read full article |

| Paterno feels better after hospital trip (AP) |
| Penn State coach Joe Paterno shrugged off a medical scare and said Friday that he feels fine after going to the hospital this week to be treated for dehydration.
