| Former Marshall defensive end Johnathan Goddard died early Sunday after a motorcycle accident in northern Florida. | Liberty Bowl founder Dudley dies at 88 (AP) |
| Ambrose "Bud" Dudley, who founded the Liberty Bowl football game in 1959 and oversaw the game for decades, has died. He was 88. Dudley died Tuesday at a nursing home in Memphis after a long illness. | Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew pleaded guilty on Monday to a reduced charge for allegedly attacking a police officer in January. | Crews started pulling up the turf Thursday at Indiana's Memorial Stadium, the first step in replacing the flood-damaged field.
