    Ohio State suspends 2 DBs for 2 games (AP)
    Ohio State suspended cornerback Donald Washington and backup safety Jamario O'Neal for the first two games of the season for violating team policy. Both players will miss the season opener against Youngstown State and the next game against Ohio University. Ohio State spokeswoman Shelly Poe confirmed Friday that Washington and O'Neal were suspended, but did not give details. -- read full article

    USC QB Sanchez dislocates kneecap (AP)
    Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez dislocated his left kneecap and was carted off the practice field Friday. Sanchez, the projected starter, was injured after making a throw during practice and landing awkwardly.     Army coach Brock has prostate cancer (AP)
    Army football coach Stan Brock watched his team's opening practice from a golf cart Friday after having follow-up treatment for prostate cancer. Brock, 50, said in a statement that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine physical in July and underwent successful surgery Tuesday.     Lawmakers spend thousands on OSU tickets (AP)
    Ohio elected officials have spent more than $400,000 on Buckeyes football tickets since 1996, purchasing hundreds of seats each year through their campaign funds, state records show.     State lawmakers have requested that members of the Iowa Board of Regents attend a special meeting in September to talk about an investigation into an alleged sexual assault by two former Iowa football players while they were at the school.
