    Pittsburgh DE Fulmer injures knee again (AP)
    Pitt has lost starting defensive end Doug Fulmer to a knee injury, the third year in a row injuries have ended Fulmer's season. Fulmer tore a ligament in his left knee and will need surgery. An MRI revealed the injury Monday, Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said Tuesday. Fulmer was hurt during practice Sunday as he attempted to bounce back from season-ending injuries the past two years. -- read full article

    Gamecocks' Garcia out with ankle sprain (AP)
    South Carolina redshirt freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia is expected to miss a week of practice because of a sprained right ankle. Garcia will miss Wednesday night's scrimmage, coach Steve Spurrier said Monday. Garcia told Spurrier he was injured in Saturday's scrimmage. Garcia, suspended by the university for underage drinking in March, joined the team for fall practice Aug. -- read full article

    Missouri TE Coffman sidelined 2 weeks (AP)
    Missouri tight end Chase Coffman is expected to miss the next two weeks of practice with a broken pinkie finger. The injury happened last week but Coffman had been trying to practice through it, wearing a glove to protect the finger on his right hand.     Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh hoped to be able to announce who his starting quarterback would be for the season opener by this point of training camp.     UCLA QB Olson has foot surgery (AP)
    UCLA quarterback Ben Olson had surgery on Tuesday to place a new screw and do a bone graft in his broken right foot. Olson, a senior whose career has been interrupted by a string of injuries and had sustained the same injury in spring practice, is expected to miss at least two months and five games.     Georgia loses LT Sturdivant for season (AP)
    Georgia is reworking its offensive line after losing starting left tackle Trinton Sturdivant for the season with a severe knee injury. Sturdivant suffered multiple ligament injuries to his left knee in a scrimmage on Monday. Ron Courson, Georgia's director of sports medicine, said Tuesday the 6-foot-5 Sturdivant might need a full year of rehab after he undergoes reconstructive surgery next week. -- read full article

    2 more Florida players tear ACLs (AP)
    Two more Florida players will miss the season after tearing knee ligaments. Gators sophomore offensive lineman Jim Barrie and freshman linebacker Brendan Beal are the fourth and fifth players to tear their ACLs. Beal suffered his injury during Monday's practice and Barrie was injured Saturday.     Clemson DT Jackson out with torn tendon (AP)
    Clemson defensive tackle Rashaad Jackson needs surgery to fix a torn tendon and will be out until at least midseason. Tigers coach Tommy Bowden made the announcement Monday, two days after Jackson tore a quad tendon during a scrimmage. The school said surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.     UCLA quarterback Ben Olson broke his foot and will be sidelined for at least two months. Olson, whose career has been marked by injuries, broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during practice on Saturday, and X-rays taken Sunday revealed the fracture.     Florida State running back Antone Smith, the team's leading rusher last season, left practice early Saturday because of dehydration. Team officials said he was expected to return Monday.
