Alabama pulls stunner at Georgia 41-30 (AP)
The Alabama Crimson Tide turned the blackout into a knockout. Just don't tell Nick Saban that he's got a national championship contender, not even after a decisive victory over third-ranked Georgia. "After five games?" Saban said with a tone of disbelief late Saturday night. "Let's see when we get a full body of work at the end of the season." But No. -- read full article

Risks paying off for No. 5 LSU (AP)
Les Miles and No. 5 LSU are up to their old tricks, taking gambles, running trick plays -- and winning big games. It doesn't seem to matter who's playing quarterback. Jarrett Lee's clutch performance running the offense, Charles Scott's pounding runs and a defense that continually smothered No. 15 Auburn's running game were the biggest keys in Saturday's night's 26-21 LSU win. -- read full article

Vandy ranked for first time in 24 years (AP)
The Southeastern Conference needs to find another pushover. Vanderbilt, for years the weakest team in college football's toughest league, moved into the AP Top 25 on Sunday for the first time in 24 years. The unbeaten Commodores are No. 21 in the latest rankings. "I think it's a pretty good reward for a good start," Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson said Sunday in a telephone interview. -- read full article

Pryor's 4 TD passes get Ohio St. by Troy (AP)
Terrelle Pryor has done this before, just not in college. "I've been making plays all my life," Pryor said. "I'm not cocky. I'm just glad I can help out our seniors and get a win." The acclaimed freshman, who hasn't even started classes yet, took charge of Ohio State's offense with four touchdown passes to lead the sluggish No. -- read full article

Tide's big plays do in Arkansas, 49-14 (AP)
Twice Casey Dick was where no quarterback wants to be -- the last man back after throwing an interception. Twice he lunged at the Alabama player with the ball, and twice he missed completely. Javier Arenas and Justin Woodall scored on those long returns, and the ninth-ranked Crimson Tide opened Southeastern Conference play with a 49-14 rout of Arkansas on Saturday. -- read full article

Fresno holds off Toledo 55-54 in 2OT (AP)
Toledo's Tom Amstutz could see that his players didn't have much left. That's why he decided to go for a two-point conversion and the victory against No. 25 Fresno State at the end of two overtimes. It didn't work. Nico Herron knocked down Aaron Opelt's pass and the Bulldogs held on to beat Toledo 55-54 on Saturday night. -- read full article

Wake wins third straight over Seminoles (AP)
For Wake Forest, beating Florida State used to big news. Now it's almost routine. Sam Swank kicked four field goals and No. 18 Wake Forest forced seven Florida State turnovers in running its winning streak over the 24th-ranked Seminoles to three games with a 12-3 victory Saturday night. "I don't know if we've ever played a better defensive game as far as forcing turnovers, making things happen," said... -- read full article

Knowshon Moreno rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns, A.J. Green caught eight passes for 159 yards and a suffocating defense did the rest on a 99-degree night. -- read full article

NC State upsets No. 15 E. Carolina in OT (AP)
Andre Brown jumped over one defender, then ran over another. Nothing was going to stop him from possibly saving North Carolina State's season -- especially not ranked rival East Carolina.
