| 3 finalists for women's college hockey award (AP) |
| Harvard forward Sarah Vaillancourt has a chance to become a two-time winner of the Patty Kazmaier Award presented to the top female player in NCAA Division I hockey. Vaillancourt, Mercyhurst forward Meghan Agosta and Wisconsin goaltender Jesse Vetter were chosen as finalists Tuesday, with the winner to be announced March 21 at the women's Frozen Four at Boston University. -- read full article |

| Hockey games eyed at Michigan, Wisconsin stadiums (AP) |
| Michigan's hockey team could play two outdoor games next year, one at Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium and the other at Michigan Stadium. Michigan's executive associate athletic director says the Wolverines are considering a December 2010 game at Michigan Stadium. | Veteran U-M hockey coach Berenson gets 1-year deal (AP) |
| Michigan is extending the contract of veteran hockey coach Red Berenson. The Regina, Saskatchewan, native played for the Wolverines in 1960-62 and is in his 25th season as their coach. Athletic director Bill Martin said Tuesday the "rolling one-year contract extension" takes effect Sept. 1. The school says it will release financial details later. -- read full article |

| Imagine the SEC on ice. The Frozen Tide vs. the Ice Vols. OK, go ahead and laugh. But while Southeastern Conference sports won't include ice hockey anytime soon, there could come a day when it joins the ranks of SEC football, basketball and baseball. | Aucoin scores in OT for Flames (AP) |
| Adrian Aucoin scored with 1:10 left in overtime to give the Calgary Flames a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. After ringing a shot off the post on a breakaway chance earlier in overtime, Aucoin put a wrist shot from the point past goalie Niklas Backstrom.
