AP - Not so fast Motor City. The Detroit Red Wings' road to the Stanley Cup has another stop to make. Against all odds, the Pittsburgh Penguins stayed alive in the Stanley Cup finals with a 4-3 victory in Game 5 that ended on Petr Sykora's goal 9:57 into the third overtime Monday night.

AP - Five rounds into the French Open, king of clay Rafael Nadal still awaits a serious challenge. Novak Djokovic hopes to provide it in the semifinals. Three-time defending champion Nadal matched the most lopsided Grand Slam victory of his career Tuesday, defeating fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. The drubbing equaled the standard Nadal set in his previous victory, when he lost three games against another Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco.

AP - Flip Saunders was fired as Detroit Pistons coach Tuesday, four days after his team was eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.

AP - Tiger Woods has started playing some holes, taking another step in his comeback from knee surgery. With the U.S. Open just a week away, Woods is not worried about how he and his left leg will fare.
