    Jet evacuated after emergency landing at LAX (AP)

    Emergency crews examine American Airlines flight 31 after the Honolulu-bound aircraft made an emergency landing Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Los Angeles International Airport, after someone said they smelled smoke in the cabin. Passengers were evacuated by inflatable chutes and six of the passengers, including a child, were treated at the scene for bumps, bruises and other minor injuries, city fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
