| The new Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth was dropped Tuesday as a site for next year's Confederations Cup because construction has fallen behind schedule. FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke cited technical problems with the roof, but said the venue will be ready for the 2010 World Cup, where it is scheduled to host eight games, including a quarterfinal. -- read full article |
