| Brother of Nigerian soccer player released (AP) |
| Gunmen released the kidnapped younger brother of Joseph Yobo, the Nigerian soccer star who played for Everton in England's Premier League last season. Norum Yobo was seized July 6 in the oil hub town of Port Harcourt and was reunited with his family Wednesday, police said Thursday. Rivers State police spokeswoman Rita Inoma-Abbey had no details about the release or if a ransom had been paid. -- read full article |

| Ante Razov scored in the 73rd minute as Chivas USA beat Santos Laguna 1-0 in a SuperLiga match Wednesday. The winner was a header past goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez. | Luis Gabriel Rey scored two goals to lead Atlante to a 3-2 victory over D.C. United in the teams' second match in the 2008 SuperLiga tournament Tuesday night at RFK Stadium.
